Hi Kevin,
I just read Queen Lear and I agree that it is great. It gave me a few giggles so I can imagine that with good actors to a live audience it would be even more endearing.
Thanks.

I'll happily send you my copy - just let me know. I saw Madden at Edinburgh Book Festival last year in an event shared with Lloyd Jones. She seemed a very nice person, and not that comfortable talking about her own book. She opened up when speaking about Jones's books. I found that endearing, and Jones was quite the gentleman.

Colette: I think I would too -- and Molly Fox's Birthday is turning into one of those books where the story of getting the book may be longer than the volume itself. dovegreyreader was the first to recommend it to me (and she was kind of enough to link these two essays of mine in her review). The Canadian edition is not due out until August. My first Book Depository order of it got messed up with a miscue on my end. My second try there was accepted until two weeks later I got a cancellation with no explanation (looks to me that that edition sold out and the new one had not arrived yet). The latest attempt comes from 3m who, after winning my Guess the Pulitzer winner contest, said she wanted to buy me a book as thanks -- it hasn't arrived yet but my fingers are crossed. I'll be reading it as soon is it does arrive, expecting it to self destruct at any moment. Of course, my anticipation of it increases with each failure, which is probably unfair to Madden.

What I was feeling guilty about was using the picture of a teenage model and a cello for the post, Isabel. Plays certainly are literature and this is a very good one. Thanks for your comment on the post.
